MAIP Fellows engage in a 22-week, nation-wide fellowship that is both virtual and in-agency.
Fellows are first partnered with an industry professional who serves as a coach for the duration of their fellowship. This one-on-one mentoring creates a strong foundation for the internship and allows fellows to hear from seasoned veterans about life in the advertising world.
Next, fellows further their training with 12 weeks of immersive online learning during Virtual Spring Training, gaining exposure to every discipline within the industry and insight from MAIP alumni and thought leaders across the industry. 2019 Virtual Spring Training included sessions such as: “Comfortable At The Table: Navigating the Industry as Race Leads the Conversation,” “How to Get a Job in Advertising,” and “Strategy 101.”
Upon conclusion of Virtual Spring Training, Fellows engage in HTML coding training through the Khan Academy, further broadening their skillset before arriving for their internship—regardless of their focus area. All MAIPers establish a fundamental proficiency in coding.
Finally, Fellows engage in a 9 week, paid internship, bolstered by professional development seminars, #MAIPLabs, hosted by agencies in major markets across the United States. The Fellowship culminates in a week long celebration in New York City where Fellows across the country are united to attend a career fair, multiple networking sessions, and additional professional development opportunities facilitated by partners in and outside of the advertising world.
Simultaneously, the MAIP Fellowship offers advertising agencies the opportunity to access top talent and strengthens the 4A’s efforts to enhance and sustain the health and wellness of our industry.
